Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesIn keeping with the Pacific Central Coast Health Centers health care philosophy, the Physician's Assistant is credentialed with advanced training in areas of primary health care for adult patients, including, but not limited to: taking health history, performing physical examination and management of acute and chronic medical conditions. Provides care in collaboration with physician members of health care team.
Essential Functions:
Demonstrates basic to intermediate skills in technology and proficient knowledge of clinical procedures.
Take a patient's medical history and perform a physical examinations for any presenting problem(s).
Order specific laboratory studies and x-rays, and other studies, as appropriate, for that patient.
Requests blood draws as required, orders collection and other tests as indicated.
Counsel patients and their families on health promotion, diagnosis, prognosis and management possibilities.
May make necessary comprehensive referrals as required.
Diagnosis and prescribe treatment as needed.
Job RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:
- Physician Assistant: CA (PA:CA)
- Completion of a training program or work as a physician assistant.
- Develop treatment plans, based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years prior PA experience.
