Description
Performs basic patient care skills, follows infection control practices, positions, transfers and transports patients, takes vital signs, collects specimens, accurately observes, reports and charts, performs range of motion and assists with feedings, self-care activities and elimination needs. Additional duties include customer relations, area coordination, patient record maintenance, office/unit operations, automated data maintenance, (verifying, recording, posting and filing informational materials via automated/manual systems), cleaning of patient care areas, stocking and ordering supplies for the unit. Training of clerical staff, and performing other duties as required.
Qualifications
1. Current California Certification of Nursing Assistant OR current enrollment in a state approved nursing school program, with a
minimum of one completed med/surg rotation
2. Foreign trained RN considered. CNA certification would be required within 12 months
3. Graduate from an approved nursing program; CNA certification is required within one year of an appointment as a CCP
4. Current BCLS certification
5. High School Diploma/GED
6. Knowledge of computer fundamentals
7. Ability to speak clearly and distinctly using appropriate English vocabulary and grammar
8. Ability to understand oral and written directives
9. Ability to read and write Standard English text
10. Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
11. Demonstrates an understanding of basic medical terminology and abbreviations
12. Ability to organize and prioritize work to complete assignments in a timely manner
