THE POSITION
The Director of Finance and Human Resources (DFHR) is a key strategic leader of the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO), contributing to the strength, growth and stability of the organization. This key executive is directly responsible for all financial and human resources systems and functions of the organization and ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions. This leader is knowledgeable about best practices in the association and/or healthcare accounting and finance arena. The DFHR reports to the Executive Director (ED) and participates as a member of the organization’s executive team.
Both strategic and application-oriented, the DFHR will collaborate with board members, staff at all levels and partners to enhance the financial and operational growth, effectiveness and stability of the association, its programs and advocacy.
The DFHR oversees an HR consulting firm responsible for delivering quality HR services to the staff.
THE PERSON
The successful DFHR Candidate has an innovative, collaborative and humane mindset that infuses their approach towards their work with the Board of Directors, Executive and Accounting/Finance teams, other staff and external partners.
The DFHR believes everyone deserves to be healthy and needs access to the highest quality health care, including economically underserved Asian Americans and Native Hawaiians/Pacific Islanders. This key executive is not afraid of challenges and readily contributes to team problem?solving and has a “roll?up?your?sleeves” attitude when facing complex problems.
The DFHR grasps the complexity of how health care is financed and the finetuning required when government contracts are also a significant proportion of total revenues. This key leader enjoys educating association colleagues on accounting/finance best practices and investing in and developing members of their staff team.
The successful candidate can telecommute from anywhere in the US with infrequent travel to major West Coast cities required.

Some combination of at least two years of health care association financial management and/or three years of health care provider financial management experience.
Completion of undergraduate degree, preferably, in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related area.
