DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruitment: Direct the recruitment process including search and acquisition of top candidates for all open positions, preparation and maintenance of job descriptions and classifications, acquire approval of SEIU for all new and revised Union job descriptions, and work with CMO to develop a Provider Marketing and Recruitment Program;
  • Onboarding/Orientation: Direct the orientation and onboarding processes, work closely with Staff Development Manager to develop and improve processes; work with CMO to develop a provider-specific orientation and onboarding process;
  • Performance Management:  Direct the evaluation process in the HR management system platform; train new managers and employees regarding the process, ensure all evaluations submitted are reviewed for appropriate language.  Ensure that bi-weekly audits are conducted to identify missing or incorrect system configurations, configure new Salud positions in the HR management system’s Performance Management and work to modify configuration as needed to meet Salud’s changing requirements;
  • Compensation: Manage the Salud HR Compensation program including overseeing the creation and maintenance of salary ranges for Salud’s non-union workforce, evaluate union salary steps, partner with 3rd party Compensation Data Providers to conduct annual salary reviews for each Salud position; recommend updates to the ranges based on the analysis and present to the Compensation Committee for review and approval, oversee and follow up on all Compensation Committee action items including special projects to assess job leveling and perform analysis required by the SEIU Union contract for Salud’s union workforce, be apprised of federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.
  • Supports and carries out programs and projects resulting from strategic plan related to human resources and talent development.
  • Assist Leadership Team on special projects.
  • Provide technical support and management for the HRMS training module; partner with the Staff Development Manager to maintain database training activities, enroll users in training courses, report on training metrics and provide employee training reports during audits.
  • Ensure a productive work environment and achievement of goals through strategies and practices in line with the CARE fundamentals of communication.
  • Consistently adhere to and/or exceed SPLG’s communication guidelines and expectations with internal and external customers including co-workers, patients, and external partners.

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  •  Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 7 years of progressively responsible HR department experience, preferably in talent acquisition
  • Strong supervisory and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated program management and strategic leadership skills
  • Strong project management skills including the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Finely tuned relationship building skills.
  • HRMS database management experience including an understanding of how HR data impacts downstream systems such as Payroll.
  • Data analytics experience including the ability to create reports in HRMS that present data clearly and meaningfully
  • Ability to analyze and recommend appropriate HR Technology strategy
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Bilingual/bi-literate Spanish preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License and current vehicle insurance; must be able to travel between sites.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  •  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.

Salud Para La Gente (SALUD) provides high quality, comprehensive and cost-effective healthcare to underserved low-income communities in the Monterey Bay area, including Santa Cruz County and North Monterey County. We began in Watsonville 1978 as a storefront “free clinic,” and in 1992 became a federally qualified health center (FQHC). Today we are a primary health care network with 11 clinic sites, over 400 employees and continue to provide high quality services to patients of all ages. Under the supervision of the Chief Human Resources Officer, this position will oversee the recruitment, onboarding/orientation, training, and performance management functions of the agency, including the Compensation Program, as well as provide project management for the HR department. In addition, this position will manage cross-functional projects and work directly with the Leadership Team on special projects as well as provide back-up support for all HR functions to the Senior HR Manager – Operations, Employee Relations and the Staff Development Manager positions, and will supervise HR Team members.
