Direct Patient Care: Provide high quality, patient-centered and values-based medical care, referral of patients for specialty care as needed, collaboration with health care team members as appropriate for consultation, referrals and follow-up care (80%).
Supervision of Clinical Staff: Assist mid-level health care providers in assessment and treatment of patients as necessary and direct supervision of nursing staff (10%).
Patient Education: Direct patient education regarding medical conditions and treatment, appropriate verbal and written patient referrals for further health education, assist CEO and CMO in program development and implementation as necessary (5%).
Quality Management and Utilization Review: Practice in an efficient, cost effective manner, participation in department and clinic-wide meetings, attend relevant Continuing Medical Education courses (5%).
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Board certified primary care physician with a minimum of two years experience in a primary care setting
Valid and current California medical license and DEA number
Preferred Position Qualifications:
Prior experience in a community health center
Ability to relate to and work with people of all ages, social and ethnic backgrounds and maintain patient confidentiality
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Able to work at various health center locations and outreach
